Q: Are all classes online?

A: Yes, all classes will begin online and stay online until November 17, 2020.

Q: Do we have to wear a uniform?

A: No, you do not have to wear a uniform while classes are online. However, we expect that students are neatly groomed and wear appropriate clothing during class time. If we return to school after November 17, 2020, all students will be required to wear The LINC’s school uniform. Go to the Parents tab above for more information about the uniform.

Q: Do I need school supplies?

A: Yes, you need some supplies. Students should have a notebook for each class or a binder if they prefer, pencils with erasers, pens, and a TI-34 calculator for math classes (if possible). All students also need a Chromebook or other electronic device to attend classes. If you DO NOT have a Chromebook and you need one, please click HERE for information.

Q: How will I get my class schedule/roster?

A: All students with a School District of Philadelphia student ID number can see their schedule/roster on their Infinite Campus account. Students who are new to the School District of Philadelphia will need their assigned student ID number and their temporary password. Your advisor will be able to help you.

Q: What will the school hours be?

A:  The schedule is on the homepage. Monday through Thursday classes begin at 10:00 am and end at 2:50 pm. There is an early dismissal every Friday and classes will begin an hour earlier. Classes begin at 9:00 am and end at 11:50 am every Friday.

Q: Are the grading guidelines the same as the end of last spring?

A: No, student assignments will not be graded as they were in the Spring. All student work will be graded as it was graded when we were in school, face-to-face, before the school closure due to the pandemic. Each teacher will explain his/her grading guidelines in their classes.

Q: Will I be marked absent, late, cutting?

A: Yes. Students will be marked with an unexcused absence if they do not join a class at all, they will be marked late if they join the class late, and students will be marked as cutting if they leave the class early. Absence notes are required for absences to be excused, notes should be emailed to Mrs. Miller, Secretary, at jnotis@philasd.org.

Q: Will I still get a transpass?

A: No, since students will be learning online, they will not receive a transpass. If school returns to face-to-face this year, then any eligible student will receive the transpass at that time.

Q: Can I call the school Main Office to speak with someone?

A: You may call the school and leave a voicemail message, the voicemail is checked multiple times a day. Another way to get in touch is to email staff, email addresses are located in the Staff Directory tab.
